Droning Around
Christmas time is a great time for photography. At its base form photography is all about capturing the effect of light in a moment in time. With all the decorations and lights this time of year allows opportunity to capture some interesting photos. Last night I figured I would do just that but with my drone.
Last year, I had flown around Steinbach and Winnipeg in a private plane to look at the lights. In our approach to land in Steinbach I saw a composition where you could see most of Steinbach laid out below with the water tower in the foreground.
Yesterday I put my drone up just south of the water tower, however the cloud cover was really low and the shot that I got was not at the elevation where you could see the whole city spread out below. Iām hoping that the skies will clear and the winds will be calm enough in the next couple of days to be able to put it up again.
The nice thing about flying at night is that it is much easier to spot other aircraft in the air and to make sure that I stay at a safe distance. The shots I have here are for of the water tower, a look down Main Street, and then the always popular lights at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach.
Stay tuned for more photo stories.
